Getting Active

It is established that when we consider healthy living, it will include getting active. Physical activity is important not only diet. If you are ready to be active, it is important that you look for a conducive environment to conduct your exercises. There are many fitness centres here in Singapore but if you are looking for a specific thrill or fun, perhaps you should consider HPB’s (Health Promotion Board) Physical Activity Programmes.

HPB supplies different activities for all people. If you are working, there’s still chance to be healthy because there is SITC (Sunrise in the City). This specific programme gives opportunity for working people to revitalize before tackling their work. All people should know that 150 to 200 minutes of moderate to high intensity physical activity is recommended. You can start by going to the following places:

The Lawn

Every Tuesday from 7:30am to 8:30am, there is multi dimensional stretch, yoga, boot camp exercise, brisk walking and jogging at Marina Bay Financial Centre.

UOB Plaza

Every Wednesday from 7:30am to 8:30am, there is multi dimensional stretch, yoga, brisk walking and jogging at UOB Plaza.

BYCH Hot Yoga

Every Monday from 7:30am to 8:30am, there is Yoga at BYCH Hot Yoga in Raffles City. You will execute a number of yoga postures in room heated to 40°C.

Fitness First

Every Tuesday from 7:30am to 8:30am, there is Body Balance which is a combination of Yoga, Pilates and Taichi at Millenia Walk. There’s another session every Wednesday from 8:05am to 8:45am at One Raffles Quay. In Alexandra and Fusionopolis, Body Balance is every Thursday from 8:05am to 8:50am.

True Fitness

Every Wednesday from 7:30am to 8:30am, there is Zumba which is a combination of Latin dance at Harbourfront Centre. There is also an aerobic dance workout every Thursday at Chevron House in Raffles Place. Every Friday from 7:30am to 8:30am, there’s Body Combat which is a combination of boxing, karate, taekwondo, muay thai and tai chi at Suntec City. s
