Car Engine Maintenance
The engine is the car’s most important part, and keeping it in shape will greatly contribute to the car’s efficiency and longer life span. Many major and expensive car problems are caused by lack of engine maintenance which could be easily avoided if routinely done. The maintenance only costs a few dollars which makes it way better than major car repairs that could cost up to thousands of dollars. So, here are some of the engine car maintenance tips you can do to help you save money.
Transmission Maintenance. A damaged transmission can be the most costly repair you’ll ever do on your car. It may cause hundreds to thousands of dollars if not well-taken of. Most common problems of car transmissions are because of old and dirty fluid or low transmission fluid level. Check your car’s transmission fluid level regularly while it is still in good running condition. Make sure you change the transmission fluid filter and the transmission fluid every 30,000 miles.
Change the Air Filter. The mobile’s air filter is one of the most overlooked when doing car maintenance tasks. Changing of air filter should be done every 12,000 to 15,000 miles to ensure that no contaminants or dirt will enter the car’s engine. Moreover, a contaminated air filter will lessen the car’s overall fuel economy.
Regular Oil Change. The most basic and important car maintenance chore a car owner should perform regularly. Over time, the car’s engine oil will lose its viscosity and becomes dirty, which, if not changed, will lead to the car engine’s deterioration and malfunction. Make sure to follow the car manufacturer’s advice and schedule for your car’s oil change to avoid costly car repairs and replace in the future.
